Yes, it\u2019s the national holiday not everyone may celebrate, but sure wants to. Here\u2019s your chance. Make THIS the year you celebrate the greatness that is pie. Who doesn\u2019t love pie? Flaky crust, sweet or sour filling. Don\u2019t get me started on with or without whip cream and then there\u2019s ala mode. NEED PIE NOW. \u00a0Pies have been served hot or cold since the ancient Greeks created them around the 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century BC. \u00a0We know they made them with sweetmeats, and some filled with fruit. Here are a few things I bet you didn\u2019t know about this savory or sweet classic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The first pies were made with chicken. But it\u2019s the pie that keeps them coming back. I recommend the Cherry. The flakey, buttery crust and tart cherry filling warm my soul. Go try them if you are in the Canyon Crest area.
